A Symphony of Time

The Q-Repeater Blue Note is a bold fusion of tradition and innovation - where mechanical sound meets contemporary design. Its skeleton dial, finished in deep navy blue CVD, reveals the intricate architecture of the quarter repeater, chiming the hours and quarter hours on demand. Inspired by the expressive "blue notes" of jazz, this timepiece plays with depth, tone, and mechanical rhythm. The 42mm Grade 5 titanium case houses the Chronoswiss legacy movement, reimagined by the Atelier in Lucerne. A floating 3D regulator layout, luminous details, and visible hammers at 1 o’clock turn every chime into a visual and acoustic performance. Limited to just 25 pieces, the Blue Note is independent watchmaking at its most refined.

Legacy

C.126

At the heart of the Q-Repeater beats a movement with legacy in its gears. The historic C.126 legacy caliber, originally introduced by Chronoswiss in the 1990s, has been carefully restored and reimagined by our watchmakers in Lucerne. What once defined an era now powers the future - its rhythm preserved, its soul revived. Enhanced with modern finishing and integrated into a bold new architecture, the C.126 bridges past and present. It’s not just a movement - it’s a legacy reborn.

Titanium Grade 5

Materials

Chronoswiss increasingly favors titanium for its lightness and strength. With the best strength-to-weight ratio among metals, titanium is highly sought after in aerospace. As it is corrosion-resistant and skin-friendly Chronoswiss exclusively selects Grade 5, the toughest available titanium alloy, ensuring unparalleled durability. In the case of the Quarter Repeater, titanium offers exceptional acoustic properties, making it the ideal material for the chiming mechanism - its natural resonance enhances the clarity and richness of every chime.

Complication

Quarter Repetition

The Quarter Repeater is a rare and expressive complication that chimes the hours and quarter hours on demand, using two gongs struck by visible hammers. Activated via a pusher at 10 o’clock, the mechanism on the dial side transforms time into sound - letting you hear the passing of hours with a mechanical melody. Thanks to its "all-or-nothing" safety system, the chime only engages when fully activated, ensuring flawless acoustic performance with every press. The movement also features a small seconds at 6 o’clock, harmoniously integrated into the skeletonized dial. With its exposed architecture and audible soul, this repeater is not just a complication - it’s a spectacle.

Artisian handcraft

Hand Guilloché

Guilloché is a traditional technique, which engraves detailed, interwoven lines on surfaces, creating unique light patterns. Chronoswiss excels in this art, producing dials with precise, radiating designs using two main guilloché machines: the straight-line and rose engine. Despite the absence of manuals for over two centuries, Master-Guillocheurs have maintained their expertise through a deep understanding of these machines. Creating one of those complex dials takes several hours. Today, Chronoswiss's guilloché dials stand as both a tribute to and a celebration of this enduring craft, showcasing its timeless appeal with a modern twist.

Coating

Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)

Chronoswiss harnesses the versatility of CVD coatings to infuse watch cases and dials with vibrant hues like blue, purple, and color-shifting tones. This complex gas-phase process enables precise, uniform coatings even on complex surfaces, optimizing for durability, resistance, and aesthetic appeal.

Our Vision

Sound in Motion

The vision behind the Q-Repeater was to fuse the emotional power of sound with the bold aesthetics of modern watchmaking. By reviving a historic movement from the 1990s and integrating it into a skeletonized, multi-level architecture, we aimed to create a repeater that is both mechanically pure and visually disruptive. The pusher at 10 o’clock activates not just a complication, but an experience - audible, visible, unforgettable. The Quarter Repeater is where acoustic heritage meets contemporary design. This is sound, shaped by Chronoswiss.
