Small Second

The Small Second Desert captures the raw elegance of untouched landscapes in a sleek, modern mechanical timepiece. Housed in a 40mm stainless steel case, its dial features a laser-engraved and nano-printed surface that mimics the shifting textures of desert sand - rugged, layered, and full of depth. Powered by the Chronoswiss Manufacture Caliber C.6000, it displays central hours and minutes with a refined small second at 9 o’clock, all set within a subtly curved, multi-level dial architecture. The pilot-style leather strap adds a utilitarian edge, grounding the piece in functionality while enhancing its bold presence. The Desert is mechanically focused, visually striking, and unmistakably modern.

Materials

Stainless Steel

Chronoswiss relies on stainless steel for its durability and sheen. With excellent resistance to corrosion and scratches, stainless steel provides a perfect balance between longevity and aesthetics. Chronoswiss primarily uses high-quality stainless steel in its watches, ensuring everyday practicality along with timeless elegance.

Technology

Laser & Nano Printing

Chronoswiss elevates the artistry of watchmaking by combining advanced nanotechnology and precision lasering. In crafting the Small Second, we intricately laser the dial’s surface to achieve a textured, multidimensional effect, while nanotechnology is employed to imprint detailed imagery.

Artisian handcraft

Hand Guilloché

Guilloché is a traditional technique, which engraves detailed, interwoven lines on surfaces, creating unique light patterns. Chronoswiss excels in this art, producing dials with precise, radiating designs using two main guilloché machines: the straight-line and rose engine. Despite the absence of manuals for over two centuries, Master-Guillocheurs have maintained their expertise through a deep understanding of these machines. Creating one of those complex dials takes several hours. Today, Chronoswiss's guilloché dials stand as both a tribute to and a celebration of this enduring craft, showcasing its timeless appeal with a modern twist.

Our Vision

The vision behind the Small Second family was to create a timepiece that embraces mechanical purity while keeping the bold spirit of Chronoswiss. We set out to design a watch that is everyday-wearable, yet rich in depth, detail, and craftsmanship. We focused on a more classic display of time, while preserving our signature three-dimensional dial architecture. The result is a watch that feels refined, reduced, and purpose-driven - Modern Mechanical in its most essential form. It's not about doing less; it's about doing what matters - and doing it exceptionally well.
